work, health and safety at Navitas Professional Services

Work health and safety (WHS) – sometimes called occupational health and safety (OH&S) – involves the management of risks to the health and safety of everyone in your workplace. This includes the health and safety of anyone who does work for you as well as your customers, visitors and suppliers.
This term is used to qualify or limit some work health and safety duties. With work health and safety if something is reasonably practicable it means it is, or was at a particular time, reasonably able to be done, taking into account:

  • the likelihood of the hazard or the risk concerned occurring
  • the degree of harm that might result from the hazard or the risk
  • what the person concerned knows, or ought reasonably to know, about the hazard or risk, and ways of eliminating or minimising the risk
  • the availability and suitability of ways to eliminate or minimise the risk, and
  • the cost of eliminating or minimising the risk.
In accordance to the law, Navitas have a WHS Policy designed to give utmost importance to the health and safety of its employees, students, contractors and visitors.
The policy and procedure purposes to establish and maintain health and safety of employees and workplaces and one of its objectives is to promote the provision of advice, information, education and training in relation to work health and safety.
WHS is introduced upon entry to the organization through training and inductions, and further managed through consultations and by highlighting the responsibilities of the employer, managers, and employees.
